On Wednesday, we helped with the middle school unit called Law & Order and met an attorney named Ms. Pendell. In the morning, we presented the Bill of Rights to 7th and 8th graders and helped them with other interactive activities pertaining to the Bill of Rights (including a scavenger hunt). During this time, we heard about Ms. Pendell's life as an district attorney in Washington D.C., which was fascinating. She prosecuted different gangs in the D.C. area and worked in the homicide unit, protecting her neighborhood from crime. Her stories of her life in D.C. really put law in a different perspective, showing the potential danger and intensity of working in the field of law.
